Gaslamp District: A Food Paradise on the Mountains of Busay

Share this:

Gaslamp District is a new hangout spot for anyone traversing the neighborhood of Busay.

While public transport took a back seat during quarantine, other forms of transportation filled the void. Bicycles in particular have become a popular mode of transport for traveling around Cebu.

Cycling has also become a prominent form of exercise, with fitness junkies traveling to notable areas like the man-made forest in Minglanilla and the mountain barangays of the city.

One of the most popular cycling areas in the city is the iconic Cebu Transcentral Highway, or what is more commonly called the TCH. This 33-kilometer road offers breathtaking views and a wonderful atmosphere that has turned it into a haven for Cebu’s best tourist spots.

Notable sought-after locations include the magnificent Temple of Leah, multiple flower gardens like Little Amsterdam and Buwakan ni Alejandra, outdoor dining hangout spots like Chixboy, and fine dining restaurants like Chateau de Busay.

Since it welcomes a large portion of the city’s cycling community, it also offers a bunch of pit stops along several winding roads and highways. This includes the newly opened mountain-top food park known as Gaslamp District.

Enjoy a fresh al fresco dining experience, complete with a relaxing breeze and a beautiful view of the city.

Situated in Barangay Babag, it is only 10 minutes away from the main road. It can serve as a quick rest stop for long road trips, whether you’re traveling north or south.

The food park includes famous restaurant kiosks and tenants from other established food parks in the city, offering a wide variety of scrumptious meals, hefty snacks, and sweet desserts.

Gaslamp District offers both traditional and modern Filipino food favorites.

Aesthetics are an important factor when it comes to having a worthwhile dining experience at a food bazaar. Gaslamp’s container van and cycling motif are not only photogenic, but pleasing to the surroundings as well, considering the location and view.

Al fresco dining is much more enjoyable with a relaxing and ambient atmosphere.

As you can see, there are many bicycle-themed motifs. Murals are fashioned on the walls, while some seats are made of bicycle saddles.

Bike racks are also available for cyclists visiting or dropping by.

The cycling motif definitely stands out at this impressive food park.

You get a breathtaking view of the mountains and the city, while the cool breeze makes for a one-of-a-kind al fresco dining experience.

Food parks in the Philippines are making a name for themselves, as they are filled with hungry customers on a daily basis. It’s no doubt that this one will be frequented by locals and tourists from all over Cebu.

Other than that, the relaxing ambiance of the great outdoors will definitely make Gaslamp District a food park worth visiting, whether you’re making a pit stop from a long bike ride in the mountains or passing by with your family or barkada.
