SM Seaside Opens the Exciting Sugbo Mercado at Sky Park

Sugbo Mercado recently opened a branch at the SM Seaside Sky Park.

Cebu’s beloved food park attraction Sugbo Mercado is obviously not content with just a couple of branches, as they recently opened a sixth branch at SM Seaside.

The new branch, however, will be situated at Sky Park, a recreational park designed by renowned Cebuano artist Kenneth Cobonpue.

Sky Park makes for a fresh al fresco dining experience.

Al fresco dining has become a popular trend over the years, as more and more restaurants and establishments are providing outdoor dining options. It’s especially more prevalent now that the pandemic has encouraged everyone to dine in an open-air space.

Just last year, a new mall in Colon Street known as Iconique Mall opened with a rooftop food park.

Like its first five branches, Sugbo Mercado houses independent and small-scale restaurants, ranging from the familiar to the utterly unique. It’s a perfect place to explore the different delicacies of Cebu.

There’s a wide selection of meals, desserts, and some of the best Filipino dishes that will surely become staples of any food trip at Sugbo Mercado.

Take a bite at some of the best Cebu food Sugbo Mercado has to offer.

LIST OF STALLS AT SUGBO MERCADO AT SKY PARK

  • Cebu Lasagna (Pasta)
  • Mushroom Haus Burgers & More
  • Zip N’ Sip (Fruit Shakes)
  • Ally Mango (Mango Shake)
  • Lodichon (Grilled Food)
  • Uma Native Chicken
  • Lechón Delicioso (Lechón)
  • Potato Patata (French Fries)
  • Seaside Scramble (Scrambled Ice)
  • Dr. Humba (Filipino Cuisine)
  • La Vienne (Chicken and Tacos)
  • Gogobap (Korean Rice Cups)
  • Hyderabad (Indian Cuisine)
  • Everest Ice Cream Station
  • Steve’s Lechon Baka (Beef Lechon)

You’ll find all kinds of delectable dishes at Sugbo Mercado that help promote the diversity of food culture in the Philippines.

Sugbo Mercado has other branches in IT Park, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Ayala Center Cebu, and Cebu Business Park.

SKY PARK

Sky Park at SM Seaside is a great place to hang out with your friends and family, especially if you want to take a break from shopping.

Its location has always been perfect for al fresco dining, giving the food park an advantage among the other fine dining establishments in one of Asia’s biggest shopping malls.

While the food park is a great nightlife hangout spot, the Sky Park branch opens earlier in the day than the other branches, starting their operations at 11 in the morning and ending at 9 in the evening.

There are signs placed on the walls to remind everyone about the protocols to be followed, such as washing your hands and practicing social distancing. They also placed bottles of disinfecting alcohol on the tables.

The management of SM Seaside reminds customers to follow social distancing and safety protocols.

HOW TO GET THERE

Sky Park is located on the third floor. Take the elevator at the Mountain Wing and walk up to the Sky Hall. Head left, where you will find the food park at the end.

JEEP

You can ride a jeepney that goes to Mambaling, such as the 10G, 09G, and 09F. Get off at the Mambaling underpass and walk towards Cebu South Road Properties. You can ride a motorcycle along the highway near the flyover for 20 or an e-bike for 40.

MYBUS AT SM CITY CEBU

You can also take a MyBus at SM City Cebu in the North Reclamation Area. Fare is at 25.

TAXI

Taxi drivers are familiar with the location, so you won’t have trouble finding one to take you there. Fare from Cebu City will range from 100 to 200.

The food park is also considered a nightlife attraction, even though operations start early in the morning.

Many Cebuanos and foreign tourists look forward to dining at SM Seaside’s Sugbo Mercado, as all the food park branches are usually flooded with hungry customers day in and day out. One thing that adds to its appeal is its blend of traditional Filipino food and fusion cuisine.

You will definitely have a hard time picking what to eat during your visit. There are many options to choose from, considering that the food is also budget-friendly.

This just goes to show that Cebu’s very first food park franchise won’t be content with just a handful of branches. We can definitely see Sugbo Mercado opening up more branches in the different areas in the city. Where do you think they’ll go next?
