Mount Manunggal in Balamban is the highest peak in Cebu—nearly one thousand meters above sea level. However, it did not grow famous because of its high altitude but because of a devastating event in Philippine history.It is where the Philippine presidential plane, named Mt. Pinatubo, crashed and caused the death of over twenty-six passengers, including former Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay, on March 17, 1957.
