Cebu South Road Properties is looking to improve its luxury residential area, City di Mare, with upcoming additions to the upscale township program from Filinvest.
It was announced that several major businesses are set to open around the area, including fast-food chains, recreational areas, and facilities for motorists.
According to an article in CDN Digital, City di Mare aims to go further with its real estate development project in order to serve as a representation of the urban landscape of Cebu. (2024)
The Cebu City government has mentioned how this may enhance the city’s economy through the SRP. It gives residents more than just a Cebu condo to buy or rent, as it will also be a stopover for motorists along the Cebu South Coastal Road.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT CITY DI MARE
According to an article in Sunstar Cebu, three Filipino franchises are opening branches within the township program, specifically Jollibee, Chowking, and the Cebuano-born coffee shop Bo’s Coffee. (2024)
Each will be stand-alone stores with their own drive-thrus, which will be directly accessible to motorists along the highway.
Additionally, a Caltex gasoline station will be the first gasoline station strictly within the jurisdiction of the SRP, with the next one being Shell across from the Talisay pier.
City di Mare is also set to open a new golfing range, a football academy, and a skate park. The golfing range, officially called Future Golf, held its groundbreaking ceremony on July 28th, 2025.
The football academy will be run by Tomasito Glenn Ramos, more aptly known as TGR. He is responsible for handling the Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Greywolves, who have won several prestigious tournaments nationwide.
Furthermore, City di Mare has started construction on a footbridge connecting the township to another of Cebu’s Filinvest projects, IL Corso. This allows for convenient transfers from the mid-rise condos to the mall’s retail and dining options.
Although still looking for occupants, the mall recently opened several outlet stores within its premises. It has a nightly food park and a sophisticated branch of Filipino restaurant Lantaw.
City di Mare has also unveiled a free bus service connecting IL Corso to neighboring areas in Talisay and Cebu City. However, each route travels every two hours, so you may have to wait awhile before departure.
SHOULD YOU STAY IN CITY DI MARE?
The best part of City di Mare is its location. Right at the center of the city’s rising commercial hub, it is only a few minutes away from the city center and other famous Cebu landmarks.
The Cebu Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), which is only around five kilometers from the township program, also allows for better access to the airport.
It looks to be the main residential area for the upper and middle class, with its mid-rise condominium communities each having serene environments that promote a healthy lifestyle.
Amalfi and Sanremo Oasis continue to show what living in luxury is like. Both incorporate recreational areas such as swimming pools and parks to make better living conditions for its residents.
Plus, Filinvest built City di Mare with sustainability in mind. Its strategic implementation of wide roads with dedicated bike lanes, as well as several engineering systems, help create a more livable environment.
Filinvest has also worked hand-in-hand with the city government to provide water mitigation systems and underground power cables for safer and cleaner surroundings. They built box culverts to help manage floodwater during the rainy season as well.
However, from the very beginning, the township program was made to incorporate outdoor open spaces, with two functional parks, namely the Central and Linear Park, being part of their master plan.
The biggest issue with City di Mare may be its transportation options, with little to no public transport options available as of today. However, there is some improvement with the free buses, as well as some jeepney routes expanding to the SRP.
All this makes for an environment of both luxurious accommodations and numerous retail outlets, giving residents and visitors a reason to stay.

Cebuano officials have always seen a fruitful vision for the SRP since the opening of the city’s biggest mall, a luxurious four-star hotel, and now, one of Cebu’s highly sought-after real estate projects.
Filinvest has had a good reputation when it comes to its condos, and they are finally refining their offerings here in Cebu. City di Mare may be the next step to an even more livable and relaxing Cebu.
