Il Corso is the new lifestyle center at South Road Properties.

South Road Properties (SRP) is one of Cebu’s busiest areas. Throughout the years, it has opened many attractions that have enticed travelers and socialites alike. One of the newest hangout spots in the area is the lifestyle shopping mall known as Il Corso. With its al fresco dining restaurants and great waterfront views, this seaside tourist spot will surely give you a relaxing gastronomic experience.

This 10-hectare beachfront attraction was organized by Filinvest Inc. in conjunction with one of the most expensive projects in the area, the City di Mare. Its shoreline location brings a much-needed unwinding adventure, rivaling many other SRP Cebu restaurants.

SERENE DESIGN

The open air makes dining in Il Corso restaurants a breeze.

They put a lot of effort in the structure’s overall design. Its proximity by the sea gives not only a great view, but a relaxing atmosphere, making you feel like you’re taking a vacation at a fancy holiday destination. Its intricate hallways and resort-style features make it a great spot to take some photos.

Though their lineup of retailers is scarce compared to other malls in Cebu, their appeal stems from their food choices. Il Corso restaurants include Filipino culinary favorites, American-style hamburgers, tasty cakes and desserts, and seafood classics to complete the seaside experience. They also provide customers with the option to get some much needed fresh air with tables and seats stationed outside.

Find out why this destination is in the running to become one of the best SRP Cebu restaurants.

RESTAURANTS AT IL CORSO

Filipino food restaurants like Parilya and Chika-an are some of their main highlights, while the Dessert Factory and Bubble Z are there to satisfy your sweet cravings. You should try some of Papa’s Potato Chips if you want a light snack or have a burger and some fries at the Big Daddy Food Truck. They also recently opened a Farmers Market to help during the coronavirus pandemic.

This Southern Cebu City mall also has a playground with a pirate ship theme.

For the children, there is a small playground with a huge pirate ship they can get in and out from, perfect for playing famous fictional characters like Captain Hook or Jack Sparrow, especially since the location is literally by the sea.

Adults will love the picturesque walkway, which is great for a stroll or an impromptu photoshoot. Il Corso also has four state-of-the-art cinemas to let you watch the best movies now showing.

The road along Il Corso is very popular among joggers and health enthusiasts. A metal bridge facing the sea accessible to passersby is also a great spot to hang out and enjoy the breeze. You might even meet some locals fishing nearby. Unfortunately, it is discouraged to take a dip in the ocean.

Due to the pandemic, some stores remain closed within the mall. Some of the tenants inside are Power Mac Center, Ace Hardware, and Dunkin Donuts.

The mall has also hosted several events in the past. They even have a wonderful firework display every Sinulog Festival.

The short walkway is a great spot for a leisurely stroll, especially with a beautiful view of the sea near Talisay City.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS AT THE SRP

Il Corso may have a great look and feel, but there is more to see at South Road Properties. The Lantaw Restaurant is only a few meters away, and the SRP Food Park known as the Food Strip is also close by.

The largest mall in Cebu, SM Seaside, also has a number of fine dining restaurants and other recreational activities you can take part in. You might even want to drop by the country’s biggest oceanarium right behind it.

There’s more coming too, as the city is developing SRP to be more than just a Southern Cebu shortcut. The new longest bridge in the country, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), is nearing its completion. An arena that is said to rival the biggest ones in Manila is also on the way, while there are plans to set up several hotels. In due time, South Road Properties will become a one-stop shop for everything you need.

Il Corso is one of the pioneers of SRP’s recent tourism boom, and luckily, it’s not that hard to get to. From SM Seaside or SM City, you can ride a MyBus going to Talisay City. This will cost you around 25-40, depending on the distance.

You can get off at the City di Mare, which is across from the Il Corso mall. Be careful when crossing the street, as a lot of cars speed along the wide highway. When you get there, you can already see the many al fresco restaurants that you won’t be able to get enough of.

Il Corso may be fairly new with more stores coming in the future, but it’s still a great place to visit because of its waterfront setting. Its design and aesthetic turned itself into a go-to place for a fine al fresco dinner or a leisurely stroll before traveling to nearby towns in southern Cebu. With its popularity gaining momentum, this resort-style mall will definitely be one of the pioneers of Cebu’s newest lifestyle venues.
