Find what suits your accommodation needs in these cheap hotels in Cebu.

Perhaps you’re reminded of unwashed linen sheets and unpleasant odors when you think about cheap hotels.

The truth is, there are a lot of places to choose from when thinking about where to stay in Cebu. No matter what your needs are, there will always be a hotel for you, especially when you are traveling on a budget. Numerous cheap hotels are scattered in Cebu Island. Here are some of the best:

ABC Hotel and Homes

Located in the heart of Cebu City, ABC Hotels and Homes boasts a minimalist design perked up by pastel colors. The ambience is in every corner up to the bathroom, which gives guests a refreshing feeling.

The room rates are truly pocket-friendly. Two people can share a room worth US$31. If you have company, you can choose to stay in a room where you share a king-size bed or a room with two single beds. For US$45, you can stay in a suite in which there’s a living room and a kitchen included. If you bring your family with you, stay in the family suite room, where you only spend US$69 for four people. All the rooms are air-conditioned.

You will be given complimentary Wi-Fi access and bottled water once you check in. There will be a safety deposit box inside the room, which you can use. Rain and handheld shower has hot and cold options. There will also be a 32-inch LCD cable TV, and if you are too tired to go bar-hopping in Cebu for drinks, indulge yourself in the minibar.

You do not need to go far if you need to buy something. Outside the hotel, you will find restaurants, coffee and laundry shops, pharmacies, and convenience stores. There are also spas if you need extra pampering.

Azia Suites and Residences

Simplicity and comfort are the two things that would come to mind once you enter Azia Suites and Residences. The hotel boasts its interior design of wooden furniture that are locally handcrafted. Each fixture and furnishing of the establishment is eco-friendly.

For US$69, you can stay in the deluxe twin room. This rate also comes with a free breakfast buffet and is good for two people. Once you check in, you will be given free internet access. A room service will be available anytime, and daily housekeeping is scheduled. You can also ask for a wake-up service if you need to. You can just stay inside and relax if you want to and just watch TV with numerous cable channels to choose from.

If you need a room with a bigger space and a living room, choose the Jr. Suite Room (US$89) or the executive room (US$108) that has its own bedroom. Both of these rates included a free breakfast buffet.

Not many may know this, but the food in Azia can compete with other restaurants in Cebu. In fact, they have three restaurants in the hotel, each having a different vibe and menu.

Cafe Lazat (“lazat” means “delicious” in Indonesia) offers Southeast Asian cuisine. Seafood and other Filipino favorites are being served in Platela Grill. The Raya Bar, which is located at the hotel’s roof deck, is another place in Cebu where you can experience the city’s nightlife as you enjoy a drink or two from the top of the building.

St. Mark Hotel

There’s not a need to underestimate cheap hotels.

This budget-friendly hotel does not look budget-friendly at all. But do not be deceived by the elegant decoration and design of the rooms; St. Mark Hotel’s room rates are actually pretty cheap.

Starting at US$35, you will be able to rest in an air-conditioned room with a comfy double bed and private bathroom. Boredom will not strike if you wish to stay inside because you will be entertained by a cable TV and a minibar. There will also be an iPod docking station if you need one. The hotel offers massages to soothe your muscles from a long trip.

There are features that make St. Mark Hotel unique. First, every floor of the hotel has a different theme. Second, it makes sure that the rooms are allergy-free, so rest assured you will have a good night’s sleep even without taking allergy medications. Last but not the least, there are loft-type suites located at the top floor of the hotel. So if you prefer a more sophisticated feeling, you can choose to stay in one of these 7 residential rooms.

Aside from the rooms, the hotel also caters conferences and private meetings. Parties can also be held in the hotel’s ballroom that can accommodate up to 70 people. The hotel’s all-day restaurant, Halo, serves Filipino, American, Italian, and Thai buffet courses. It also serves beer and cocktails at affordable prices.

Wellcome Hotel

The hotel is the go-to place of travelers who seek for cheap hotels near Mango Avenue. Its location is also near popular shopping malls. If you want to visit Cebu’s famous tourist spots, you can easily reach places through the accessible modes of public transportation.

But what the hotel is known for is the accommodating staff and their quick response to your needs. They value the comfort and the time of the guests the most. They will also make it convenient for you to travel to Ayala Center Cebu through their free shuttle service.

At a starting rate of US$35, two people can stay in a standard room with a king-size bed and balcony. This price includes a complimentary breakfast for both guests. Rooms with kitchenette and sofa range from US$40 to US$50.

This budget-friendly hotel has an outdoor swimming pool where you can dive in or just sit on the balcony overlooking the city. If you want to unwind and get some drinks on a weekend, you do not actually need to leave the hotel. You will find the party on the roof deck. Watch live bands perform your favorite hits while you enjoy your beverage.

Cheap Hotels Are the Way to Go

These cheap hotels may have budget-friendly prices but offer you more than what you pay for. So if you plan to travel to Cebu on a budget, worry no more about your accommodation.
