Say hello to the newest addition to Cebu Business Park!
We’ve all heard of Central Park, yes?
It’s that famous New York City attraction where greenery is flanked by the concrete jungle that is the Big Apple. Sandwiched between Manhattan’s Upper West Side and Upper East Side, we’ve seen it in movies and shows like Little Manhattan and Gossip Girl.
Did you know that Cebu has its own version?
Yes, you read that right. There is a Central Park in the Queen City of the South.
Cebu Business Park (CBP) opened the area to the public on April 29. Aptly named CBP Central Park, it’s a space where nature and city living come together for the community’s benefit.
WHAT’S IN CBP?
CBP is a 50-hectare area in the heart of Cebu City. This district (for lack of a better term) has been serving Cebuanos in business, leisure, and real estate since 1989.
Cebu Holdings Center, located next to the park on the left side, was the first building to rise, spanning nine stories of office spaces.
At the time, office condominiums like this were not as common as they are today.
Currently, it’s among the area’s shortest structures, thanks to the numerous high-rise buildings flanking it.
In 1994, Ayala Center Cebu followed. This iconic mall is the district’s crown jewel, drawing thousands of shoppers daily. Three years later, Seda Ayala Center Cebu (then called Cebu City Marriott Hotel) opened its doors to guests.
CBP is also home to many companies from various industries. Local bigwigs like Innove Communications, Inc. and international titans like Amazon have headquarters in the district.
In addition, many condominiums have occupied the 50-hectare area. Among them are Avalon, Solinea, 1016 Residences, Sedona Parc, Park Point Residences, and The Alcoves.
A PIECE OF NATURE IN THE CITY
CBP isn’t all brick and mortar. The 50-hectare area has its share of shrubs.
Central Park is the latest green space catering to occupants.
Ayala Land Vice President and Central Luzon and VisMin Estates head Jennylle Tupaz says the park aligns with CBP’s vision for a balanced space.
“As we continue to shape our estates for the future, we are deeply committed to creating spaces that enhance both livability and community connection,” she tells SunStar. (2025)
The park is part of CBP’s Redevelopment Program. It’s a long-term initiative overseeing the evolution of properties as a response to modern living demands.
Sustainability, accessibility, and community building are the main priorities.
Central Park is a monumental event in the program’s second phase. This stage also includes the current revamping of existing parks, major roadway work, and PUV terminal rehabilitation.
Moreover, phase two comprises revitalized streetscapes featuring siar—native yellow copper pod trees. These flowering trees will line CBP’s main streets, adding to its livability.
PERKS OF THE PARK
CBP Central Park has something for everyone.
Numerous benches surround the area to ensure proper seating spaces for visitors. Picnic tables are at the back for groups planning to have long hangouts.
Pet lovers can bring their furry friends with them as well. This is made possible through the support of animal welfare groups like Paw Pantry Mission and Happy Trails.
Walking dogs, cats, and other pets won’t be an issue.
The park has a designated space (Paw Park) where dogs can move about freely. Rules are laid out to secure safety and enjoyment.
Folks in need of silence can spend time in the grotto. Press pause and reflect in this quiet space, which has a Mother Mary statue in the middle.
If you’re looking for fresh produce and light snacks, the CBP Farmer’s Market checks that box. Health-conscious people can pick up a few fruits and vegetables or simple treats for themselves.
For meals on the heavier side, An’dale has a pop-up stall serving delicious food. Hunger can strike at any moment, so it’s nice to have an option to satisfy that.
There may be only one food kiosk now, but more may follow in the future.
HOW TO GET THERE
Location: Cardinal Rosales Ave., Cebu Business Park, Cebu City
Operating Hours: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
No jeepney directly passes by CBP Central Park. However, many stop at Ayala Center Cebu. Disembark at the mall and head towards the area via the Cardinal Rosales Ave. entrance and exit point.
You can also use taxis and ride-hailing apps. Tell the driver to stop at or set the destination to Cebu Holdings Center, since the park is right beside it.
