Going to Mactan airport from IT Park? MyBus has got you covered!
Is there a bus from IT Park to Cebu airport?
Cebuanos will be pleased to know that there is! A newly announced MyBus route will directly connect the city’s busiest commercial district and lifestyle hub to the country’s second busiest airline terminal.
For a while, commuters had to take pricier transportation options like taxis and ride-hailing apps, as there was no bus route going directly to Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) from the business center.
Through a post on their Facebook Page, it was mentioned that the route had started plying the streets of Cebu on March 14th.
The post also confirmed that the route will pass through Cebu Business Park, increasing the bus line’s reach to other areas of the city.
RIDING A MYBUS AT IT PARK
The MCIA MyBus at IT Park departs on an hourly basis, starting at 6:40 AM until 8:40 PM.
Subsequently, the trip going to IT Park will depart at 7:00 AM, with the last trip at 10:00 PM.
MyBus emphasized that longer waiting times should be expected during peak hours.
It will pick up passengers at the transport terminal across Ayala Central Bloc, giving good access to those staying at nearby condos like Avida Riala Towers and Calyx Center.
Regular fare is Php 50.
The MCIA-bound route will also pick up passengers along SM City Cebu, Parkmall, and Plaridel Street (near Bridges Town Square and Shell). This will then pass the Marcelo Fernan bridge, going all the way to the airport.
On the other hand, the route to IT Park will make a detour to Cebu Business Park once it reaches Landers Superstore. This will then pass the Ayala Public Transport Terminal, Maybank, and the bus stop at Samar Loop.
From there, the bus will go straight to Archbishop Reyes Avenue bound for IT Park. Before entering the transport terminal, the bus will make two stops along J. Del Mar Street, which is a notable bus stop near Qualfon.
This makes it convenient for those who have reserved accommodations at nearby condominium complexes like 38 Park Avenue and 88th Avenue Apartments.
“EASIER THAN EVER”
For its part, MCIA celebrated this new development, saying that traveling from IT Park to the airport is now “easier than ever.”
According to a post published on their Facebook Page, the route aims to provide the following:
- Seamless airport transfers
This prevents travelers from taking multiple rides to get there, reducing long waiting times for a smoother trip.
- Convenient stops
As mentioned, this new route will stop at important landmarks in the city including Parkmall in Mandaue and Ayala Center Cebu. Designated bus stops are a huge help for daily commuters so that they know where to wait for the next bus.
- Comfortable & affordable travel
Gone are the days when travelers had to resort to taking taxis all the way to the airport. At only Php 50, this is one of the most affordable ways to reach the MCIA.
Aside from this, MyBus buses are known for being spacious and having specific areas to keep your luggage, providing a more comfortable experience for passengers.
OTHER ROUTES
Last February, MyBus unveiled brand new buses at SM Seaside to ensure seamless public transportation for its passengers.
According to a Press Release published in CDN Digital (2025), these modern buses will be equipped with comfortable seating, air-conditioning, and a cashless payment option through their MyBus cards.
Additionally, they unveiled a new route, specifically to the newest SM branch on the island, SM JMall.
The bus will be parked at the old jeepney terminal at the back of the mall. It will pass through Parkmall, SM City Cebu, and Robinsons Galleria before reaching SM Seaside.
From Seaside, you can ride a bus for JMall at the Mountain Wing.
Regular fare rates are at Php 30.
*****
MyBus continues to provide affordable transport options for Cebuanos, with the Mactan Airport route from IT Park being an absolute game changer.
Even with the countless public transport options available at IT Park, it still lacked one going directly to the airport. This is indeed a welcome development that will benefit travelers and Cebu travel enthusiasts alike.
