Funhan Mart Cebu: Your New Go-To Korean Convenience Store

The country’s top Korean convenience store is now in Cebu!

Other than being a one-stop-shop for food and household items, a Korean convenience store is known for offering specific services that you won’t find at any other mini mart.

Food and drinks are served and prepared in efficient ways, which make dining or taking food on the go convenient. Nonetheless, visiting a Korean convenience store is a popular bucket list item for avid fans of the hallyu culture.

However, you don’t need to travel outside the country to experience the best that Korea has to offer. As more and more Filipinos express their love for anything Korean, some establishments have brought a variety of exclusive products from the Land of the Morning Calm to the Philippines.

This new establishment is located in Horizons 101 along Mango Avenue.

Funhan Mart is a great example. It’s the first Korean convenience store franchise in the country, with several branches nationwide. With this, Filipinos can purchase their favorite Korean products – from food to other essentials.

Inside, you can cook Korean instant noodles and try out various delicious Korean desserts, including pretzels, ice cream sticks, and chocolate bars.

The famous establishment has finally opened a branch in Cebu City, located in Horizons 101 along Mango Avenue – this is also considered one of the city’s nightlife hubs with various clubs, condominiums, and bars nearby.

Funhan Mart Cebu is open every day from 10 AM to 2 AM.

So what’s in store for you at this renowned Korean convenience store?

According to an article on Esquire Philippines, the name Funhan is a play on the Korean word “peon-han,” translating to “obvious and transparent.”

Though it may sound confusing, this refers to the store’s ambiance, with its clean yellow, purple, and white accents exuding comfort and convenience.

It was designed to let customers experience what an actual Korean convenience store is like.

Funhan sources its products straight from Korean companies, as seen from their selection of items.

Some items are available in other convenience stores, while other lesser known products may be harder to find. These are all imported straight from Korea, so you can bet that they are of good quality.

Walking around the spacious aisles, you will find a variety of Korean instant noodles, candies, biscuits, and snacks that will satisfy your hallyu loving heart.

They also have household items, condiments, spices, frozen food, and medical supplies.

You can order items from Funhan Mart through their website and they will deliver them right to your doorstep. But you should definitely visit the physical store to experience it firsthand.

Customers can cook and enjoy the store’s selection of Korean instant noodles.

At Funhan, you can cook your own ramyeon or noodles. This is basically the Korean version of instant ramen.

Automated cookers are installed at the store, and cooking the noodles can be a fun activity to do with friends.

First, you need to purchase an aluminum tray at the counter, then put it on top of the cooker. Place the noodles and other ingredients into the tray, then press either Soup or Stir Fry, depending on what kind of noodles you will be getting.

Simply sit back and relax and wait for your noodles to finish cooking.

Once it’s done, mix the noodles to your heart’s content! Don’t forget to pair it with their selection of side dishes like sausages, chicken sticks, and dried seaweed.

Pair your ramen with a cup of your preferred beverage.

Looking to pair it with a tasty beverage? Definitely try going for an ice cup!

This is basically a plastic cup that is filled with ice, kept chilled inside a freezer. Simply take one out and add your drink of choice.

You can choose from juices, soda, or coffee, all of which are conveniently stored in pouches. They’re easy to open and pour out, giving you the fun experience of making your own delicious drink.

Some people might ask what’s so special about a Korean convenience store, but they only have to go to one to see the difference. It’s a regular convenience store, but with the quirks of Korean culture that many Cebuanos have come to love.

Whether you need house essentials, a quick bite, or your favorite brand of ramyeon, Funhan Mart is definitely worth checking out. Enjoy a variety of Korean products and a one-of-a-kind experience brought by the vibrant and cozy vibe of your favorite convenience store!
