Mactan Newtown was developed by Megaworld Corporation, an industry forerunner in developing business hubs and residential areas in the country. It is the first township program to have its very own beachfront.
The 30-hectare “live-work-play-learn” environment consists of condominiums, hotels, retail shops, and even a school. It has also allocated 150,000 square meters for their “cyber park” of BPO companies.
It aims to be a hub for the IT industry, with international companies already occupying several buildings. The five-storey, 6,000 square-meter One World Center, for example, is being rented out by BPO locators like Results Manila and EnfraUSA.
Other than that, there are two four-star hotels in Mactan Newtown, namely Belmont and Savoy.
Here, you will find the biggest McDonalds branch in Cebu, also located at One World Center. It has a capacity of 350 people, a drive-thru, and a play area for kids.
Megaworld also plans to build a lifestyle mall by the beachfront.
