With food parks opening all around Cebu, the only way for you to stand out is if you could make pigs fly.

Lo and behold, this idiomatic expression was the inspiration behind Cebu’s newest lifestyle hub which just so happens to be a food park.

The Flying Pig Park opened right in time for the 2024 holiday season, already gaining interest and excitement for its innovative take on the food bazaar.

According to their official website, this is the only food park with direct access to a national highway, is located next to a massive sports stadium, has its own event center, and is surrounded by residential compounds.

Found along South Road Properties, and only opening late in the afternoon, it’s the newest addition to Cebu’s long list of exciting and energetic dinnertime food trip spots.

A PARK FOR EVERYONE

Their website says that the Flying Pig is “created for kids, ideal for adults, relaxing for seniors, and welcome to furry friends.” The goal is to create a food park that caters to every member of the family.

The entire area is spacious with grassy fields and concrete pathways. The park is divided into three main sections: the food trucks, the central hall, and the al fresco dining area.

The food park has a playground and hopscotch markers on its pathways, offering fun activities for the young at heart.

The use of pigs is evident in the park’s design, with pig sculptures that come in fascinating patterns. You can also find life-sized art installations of notable figures like Carlos Yulo and Lionel Messi.

You can find massive murals at the back of the food park as well, while small portraits are installed in their state-of-the-art restrooms.

WHAT TO EAT AT THE FLYING PIG PARK

They have 39 different food stalls specializing in international cuisine–ranging from high-end establishments to budget-friendly casual dining options.

For better navigation, signages are placed on top of each stall for you to know what products and services are offered.

One food stall is the popular Japanese restaurant Nonki, known for their bestselling sushi and tempura. They mainly offer freshly fried ebi tempura and a selection of teppanyaki meals.

Guests can also indulge in some Chinese dumplings at Master Siomai, with different variations such as beef, pork, and shrimp.

For Filipino food staples, several kiosks offer barbecue and sizzling plates. Of course, a Cebu food park would not be complete without the famous lechon, which guests can purchase at the park’s very own lechon station.

For beverages, the food park has mobile bars and coffee shops with quaint stalls to serve their drinks at. Runway has its own tiny mobile kiosk, while drinks from Happy Sip are made from the back of a car.

Aside from food, the Flying Pig also has a small stall selling jerseys and other sports apparel.

The park is still accepting tenants, claiming to bring in food staples from ten different countries. Stay tuned and you might just find your favorite international cuisine available at Flying Pig!
