Coffee and food lovers unite! You’re in for a treat at this hidden gem located at Gaisano Country Mall. Gureum Cafe & Bar recently launched their soft opening on June 5th.
Its cozy setting is ideal for hanging out with friends, taking IG snaps, or simply enjoying the comfort of your favorite dishes and coffee drinks.
Get your cameras and sophisticated taste buds ready! This is going to be an elegant, picture-perfect dining experience.
Of all the places within Gaisano Country Mall (also locally known as ‘C Mall’), this cafe bar is truly noteworthy. It’s situated at one of the mall’s tower tops where you can stand up close to the iconic hemispherical window wall.
The interior design can be a great backdrop for prenup shoots or film projects, especially when you position your camera facing the window wall at a specific angle—it’s like straight out of a movie clip!
So, how do you get up there?
THE ENTRANCE
While strolling around, you will notice this clandestine entrance enclosed within A Taste of Mandarin restaurant.
The area was once a speakeasy bar, hence its discreet entryway.
As you can guess, it never fails to spark curiosity among passersby. Right at the entrance, you will be greeted by portraits positioned beside the spiral staircase.

ABOUT GUREUM CAFE & BAR
Now, you might be thinking, why is there a portrait of a cloud?
Well, it’s the inspiration for the brand name of the cafe itself: Gureum, which comes from the word ‘gureum (구름).’
If we consult Collins Dictionary, the word ‘gureum’ is the Korean term for cloud.
The portrait is the cafe’s way of introducing itself and welcoming guests.
Like the clouds sitting at the top of Gaisano Country Mall, this cafe bar is called Gureum for a reason.
Point of clarification: Gureum is not a Korean cafe. Although its name is originally from a Korean word, and the owners are Korean, it’s not necessarily a Korean establishment.
If you notice the overall interior aesthetic, it’s a mix of modern French Baroque and other styles. The menu is also diverse, not necessarily leaning towards any specific cuisine.

THE DINING EXPERIENCE
As soon as you’re inside, their staff will delight you with their warm greetings as they usher you to your seat.
Take note that the cafe is still in its soft opening, and they are usually busy on weekends. They do have seats in the waiting area for your convenience and the staff will promptly notify you as soon as a table is available.
Both staff members and the owners are hands-on when it comes to serving their customers. They will attend to your needs as swiftly and precisely as they can.
For a start-up business, Gureum Cafe & Bar is definitely setting the bar high.
WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD?
Gureum cafe has a team of professional cooks. Their menu boasts hand-made, in-house, and fresh dishes every day.
They serve pastas and sandwiches, rice bowl meals, coffee blends, desserts, cocktails, wines, and more.
Some of their best dishes include:
- Gureum Sandwich: This is a very simple, filling, and flavorful dish.
It has three layers of clubhouse bread stacked with crispy bacon, soft eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and honey mustard mayo sauce. Every ingredient is fresh, and the taste is divine.
- Pasta Bolognese: The pasta is al dente, which means it’s firm—a good sign of quality pasta cooking. Since this is an Italian classic, it’s made with slow-simmered tomato sauce, ground beef, garlic, and onions.
As you dig into it, you can savor the flavor of red tomatoes, spices, and that rich, meaty taste.
