More and more people are hitting the gym and joining sporting events to encourage a healthier lifestyle. But physical activity is only one part of getting fit. Food consumption also plays a vital role.
Proper fitness requires low-calorie and high-protein meals, most of which are often associated with being of poor taste. That isn’t the case at Kenny Rogers Roasters.
Since opening in the Philippines in 1995, the US-based company has focused on high-end healthy food options, most famously its “best-tasting” rotisserie roasted chicken.
With nearly 150 branches, it is one of the top casual dining restaurants in the Philippines, with Cebu being one of its biggest markets.
In 2025, the restaurant celebrated its 30th anniversary, with plans to grow even further with innovative projects, more branches, and maintaining its strong brand.
“DELICIOUSLY HEALTHY THROUGH THE YEARS”
Lorent Adrias, the Marketing Director of Kenny Rogers Roasters Philippines, referenced a survey concluding that one out of two Filipinos want to start living a healthier lifestyle after the COVID pandemic.
35% of the survey’s respondents struggle to stay healthy because of price, accessibility, and, most importantly, taste, which is the biggest concern among 46% of its respondents.
At Kenny Rogers, they believe there is no reason to sacrifice taste when eating healthy. They are committed to finding the perfect balance of taste and health benefits.
As confirmed on their official website, the food at Kenny Rogers is tested and certified by SGS Philippines, the local branch of the world’s top testing, inspection, and certification company.
Lorent mentioned that working with SGS ensures transparency and avoids bias. Kenny Rogers makes eating healthy much easier by mentioning their meals’ nutritional value.
HEALTHY MEALS AT KENNY ROGERS ROASTERS
The Kenny Rogers Roasters menu introduced two labels: High Protein and Low Calorie. This is to determine what nutritional benefits are present in specific meals.
Six of their bestselling dishes are stamped with these labels to help customers make informed dining decisions. These mostly consist of their signature roasted chicken and one or two healthy side dishes.
- Low Calorie Meal – grilled fish with steamed vegetables and garlic rice with only 417 kcal.
- High Protein Meal – their signature quarter chicken with rice and a side of Caesar Salad with 66 grams of protein.
- Classic Healthy Plate – a High Protein Meal but with fresh fruit salad and kani and mango salad instead. It only has 70 grams of protein at a 98% recommended energy intake (REI).
- High Fiber Meal – another High Protein Meal but with corn and carrots replacing the rice. It only has 79 grams of protein with 110% REI.
- Kani and Mango Salad – With only 240 kcal, this mixture of shrimp, vegetables, Philippine mango, and salad dressing is a hefty and healthy side dish.
- Quarter Classic Roasted Chicken – present in almost every healthy plate, it has a total of 305 kcal.
The emphasis on healthy living inspires the company’s thematic campaign “I Love Me Better at Kenny Rogers,” encouraging customers to put themselves first and practice self-care.
Lorent later revealed several projects for the upcoming months to celebrate its 30 years of service.
“I LOVE ME BETTER”
Kenny Rogers’ marketing campaign can be seen on billboards, posters, and other advertising materials, using words of affirmation and positive speech. A QR code is placed on each poster, leading directly to a website when scanned.
The site displays the nutritional value of their meals to entice health conscious consumers.
Additionally, Lorent mentioned the return of the Solo Love Club, the restaurant’s initiative for empowering “solo diners.”
First launched in February last year, it will officially return on November 11, 2025, also known as “National Singles Day.”
According to an article in the Manila Standard, the initiative is a celebration of self-love, encouraging customers to embrace their own company. (2024) It will introduce “solo plates,” which are specifically tailored for one person only.
OTHER PROJECTS AND BRANCHES
Kenny Rogers will also continue their farm-to-table program “Farmvocacy,” where they open mini farms at schools to empower urban farming. Lorent mentioned that some branches will have special mini farms inside.
As for new branches, there is said to be a new one at the Paseo Arcenas in Banawa towards the end of the year. There are currently five Kenny Rogers Roasters branches in Cebu, namely:
